Title: Mt.Gox roots
Post by: curVV on April 18, 2013, 07:55:38 PM
Some useless info before I go to bed..

Heard on Keiser Report today that Mt.Gox (Mount Gox) is an initialism for Magic: The Gathering Online Exchange!  They used to be an exchange for Magic: The Gathering playing cards ;D

Anyway they made a bucket load from the recent crash after the mass sell-off as result of DDOS or HFT as they call it, but I'm glad it happened - many are sprinting to start new exchange markets.

They used to do 80% of all BTC exchanges. Not good.

Do you think someone from that exchange got filthy rich? Bitcoins were dirt cheap back then...
